Brief Introduction of the Book

This is a compilation of the blog essays of the veteran Christian blogger Jidian (Song Cheng) published inside China. An active Christian writer on the Chinese Internet since 1995, Jidian was known among Chinese intellectuals for his apologetics writings in the earlier years, and turned his interest and focus on Christian culture in the Western world in his writings in recent years. His blog entries covered a wide range of topics, including stories of historical Christian figures and today’s influential Christians, commentaries on movies, books, songs and social and cultural issues from a Christian point of view, travel journals throughout the world, and so on. The essays are roughly divided into two parts of “Culture War” and “Spiritual Peace”, but they have a common theme of seeking God and homecoming of human heart and soul to the ultimate and eternal peace and joy.

About the Author

Jidian (Chinese PinYin for Gideon) is from Chengdu city in Sichuan Province of China and has lived in the U. S. since 1992. He graduated from Fudan University with a BS degree in 1986 and from the University of Alabama with an MS degree in 1995, both in chemistry. He was a scientist and technical manager from 1995 to 2011.  Since 2011 he has worked for a Christian media ministry that publishes magazines and builds websites in Chinese language. He is the author of Responses to Skepticism About Christian Faith on the Chinese Web and has written on the Chinese Internet since 1995.
